Furious North Korea hits out at "rash" America over its "wild military acts" after US jets drop bombs near its border

A furious North Korea has blasted the US over its
"wild military acts" after American military jets
bombed sites near its border with the South.
President Donald Trump sent supersonic bombers and
stealth fighter jets to the South Korean border in a
huge show of force against North Korean leader Kim
Jong-un .
The jets could be seen dropping bombs in a dramatic
warning to North Korea.

This afternoon, a statement released by North Korean
state news blasted America.
It read: "The wild military acts of the enemies are
nothing but the rash act of those taken aback by
North Korea's missile launch."
Just two days ago, Pyongyang launched a ballistic
missile, called the Hwasong-12, over northern Japan,
leading to a sharp rise in tensions.
The live-fire drills today took place at the end of
annual joint U.S.-South Korea military exercises
focussed mainly on computer simulations.
North Korea strongly objects to the drills, which it
sees as a preparation for invasion. It has responded
with threats and missiles launches in recent weeks.
Trump has come back with his own threats.
He warned North Korea it would face “fire and fury” if
it threatened the US, and said the military was
“locked and loaded” in case of any provocation.
Last week, he had said Jong-un was “starting to
respect” the United States.
But taking to Twitter yesterday, the US president
declared “talking is not the answer” to resolving the
long-standing impasse with North Korea.
“The U.S. has been talking to North Korea, and paying
them extortion money, for 25 years,” Trump wrote.
“Talking is not the answer!”
However, US. Defence Secretary Jim Mattis, when
asked by reporters just hours later if the US had run
out of diplomatic solutions with North Korea, replied:
“No.”
“We are never out of diplomatic solutions,” Mattis
said before a meeting with his South Korean
counterpart at the Pentagon.
“We continue to work together, and the minister and I
share a responsibility to provide for the protection of
our nations, our populations and our interests.”
Japanese Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera spoke to
Mattis via phone and agreed to keep putting pressure
on North Korea in a “visible” form, Japan’s defence
ministry said.
Ahead of today's drills with South Korea, the US
bombers and stealth fighters conducted an air
exercise with Japanese F-15 fighter jets.
The exercise took place around Japan's southern
island of Kyushu and involved two Japanese aircraft,
the country's Air Self Defence Force (ASDF) said.
The US aircraft flew out from Andersen Air Force
Base on the US Pacific island territory of Guam , and
the Iwakuni U.S. Marine Corp Air Station in Japan.
The planes later went on to conduct the drills with the
South Korean military jets.
On Tuesday, the 15-member U.N. Security Council
condemned North Korea's firing of the intermediate
range ballistic missile over Japan as “outrageous".
It demanded that the country halt its weapons
programme. However, the U.S.-drafted statement did
not threaten new sanctions.
Yesterday, we reported how the US had announced it
had tested a nuclear super bomb in a show of
strength in the face of North Korean warmongering.
The country's Air Force said it had carried out a
successful flight test of the B61-12 guided bomb - the
world’s most dangerous nuclear weapon. In a
separate operation a US Navy warship yesterday
downed a ballistic missile at sea during a test .
The US said its ship, the USS John Paul Jones, used
guided missiles to intercept a medium-range ballistic
missile target that was launched from the Pacific
Missile Range Facility on Kauai, Hawaii.
It was later revealed that on August 8 a F-15E aircraft
from Nellis Air Force Base had dropped a dummy
nuclear super bomb in the Nevada desert.
The US National Nuclear Security Administration
(NNSA) said the tests were to check the aircraft’s
“capability to deliver the weapon”, which will be at
the centre of America’s armoury within three years.
“The B61-12 life extension program is progressing on
schedule to meet national security requirements.
These realistic flight qualification tests validate the
design of the B61-12 when it comes to system
performance,” said Phil Calbos, acting NNSA deputy
administrator for Defense Programs.
