Conor McGregor has been caught making a
homophobic slur at teammate Artem Lobov's defeat
to Andre Fili.
The Irishman was ringside at UFC Gdansk on Saturday
as SBG Ireland training partner Lobov was beaten by
Fili.
But he could find himself in hot water after footage
showed him making the slur as he spoke to Lobov
backstage.
A video was uploaded on social media showing
McGregor refer to Fili as a "f*****" before being
swiftly deleted.
He has not commented on the incident, nor have the
UFC.
McGregor has been away from the sport for some
time having made his boxing debut against Floyd
Mayweather in August.
He has now been ordered to defend his lightweight
title against Tony Ferguson.
A rubber match with Nate Diaz had been rumoured
after the pair won one apiece in their thrilling fights
together.
But UFC chief Dana White insists it will be Ferguson
instead and that it "has to happen next" with a
meeting possible before the end of the year.
"Tony's the interim champion, Conor's the champion,
that's the fight that makes sense. It's the fight that
has to happen," he said.
