Cristiano Ronaldo pokes fun at Rio Ferdinand's decision to become a professional boxer

Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand go way back,
and clearly the news of the former defender's career
change has reached Madrid.
The former Manchester United colleagues won the
Champions League together in 2008, as well as nine
Premier League titles between them, but when they
met up for sponsors Nike recently Ronaldo wasted no
time in bringing up the news that Ferdinand intends to
switch career and become a professional boxer .
When Ferdinand asked Ronaldo what he thinks he'll
be doing in 10 years' time - when the 32-year-old has
presumably retired from football - he had just one
answer.

"10 years? In 10 years it will be tough... Maybe I will
be a boxer like you," Ronaldo joked before laughing,
and later flexing his muscles to prove that he could
do a good job in the ring.
Elsewhere in the interview, Ronaldo also mentioned
what was going through his mind when he joined Real
Madrid in 2009, saying: "I just thought in my mind I
want to go there to show my level.
"And that's what I did. I arrived and I had a fantastic
first season and then I have improved every season."

Ronaldo also added that he'll never forget the role
that United played in his development.
"I will never forget the Red Devils," he said.
"I learned to be better and better, being around the
best players in the world."
