Donald Trump tells Secretary of State he's 'wasting his time' trying to hold peaceful negotiations with North Korea

Donald Trump ’s inability for diplomacy increased
tensions between the US and North Korea when he
told his Secretary of State not to bother with for
peaceful negotiations.
On Saturday it emerged Rex Tillerson had made a
breakthrough over the rogue nation’s missile and
nuclear tests having opened up direct communication
with Kim Jong-un’s government .
But today Trump undermined the development while
again taunting the North Korean leader, calling him
once again “little rocket man”.

He tweeted: "I told Rex Tillerson, our wonderful
Secretary of State, that he is wasting his time trying
to negotiate with Little Rocket Man. Save your energy
Rex, we'll do what has to be done.”
Many took his Twitter post to mean he was
threatening military action against North Korea.
Trump followed up his tweet attacking three previous
Presidents for failing to prevent North Korea from
building a nuclear arsenal before boasting he would
stop Kim.
He wrote: "Being nice to Rocket Man hasn't worked in
25 years, why would it work now? Clinton failed, Bush
failed, and Obama failed. I won't fail."
Tillerson has been seeking a possible way forward
beyond the escalating threats of a military
confrontation from both sides which could lead to a
mass loss of life.
“We are probing, so stay tuned,” the Secretary of
State said when asked about how he might begin a
conversation with Kim that could avert open conflict
between the two countries.
“We ask, ‘Would you like to talk?’ We have lines of
communications to Pyongyang - we’re not in a dark
situation, a blackout,” he added.
“We have a couple, three channels open to
Pyongyang,” a reference to North Korea’s capital.
The two countries have been trading public threats
over North Korea’s nuclear program, with the North
declaring that its missiles have the capacity to strike
the United States and President Trump vowing to
“totally destroy” North Korea.
So far, Kim’s government has shown no interest in a
serious negotiation.
