Forbes has released its list of the top 100 highest-
paid celebrities and the number one spot is quite the
shocker.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs earned the most this year with
$130m (£102m), pushing him up from last year's 22nd
spot.
Beyonce and JK Rowling triumphed yet again to take
the second and third spot - but women comprise just
16% of the world's top-earning celebrities.
PROMOTED STORIES
While at the other end of the spectrum, Donald
Trump's place on the 36th annual rich list ranking has
plummeted a staggering 92 places - with his networth
dropping $600 million.
Winners
Sean Combs - $130m
(£102m)
Although P. Diddy's not had an album out since 2015,
his business interests have catapulted him into the
big time, and he's jumped from number 22 in last
year's list to nab this year's top spot.
Beyonce - $105m (£82.7m)
The now mum-of-three is the highest paid female
celeb - which is in part down to the huge success of
her Lemonade album comeback and the Formation
World Tour that followed - grossing a quarter of a
billion dollars.
Along with hubby Jay Z, Beyonce also owns a portion
of the TIDAL streaming service and her still popular
IVY Park range with Topshop.
JK Rowling $95m (£74.8m)
The highest paid author in the world earned a very
impressive £71 million this year.
The 52 year-old Harry Potter creator takes the top
spot for European celebs after another storming 12
months, thanks to the Fantastic Beasts spin-off and
the runaway success of stage play the Cursed Child.
Christiano Ronaldo $93m
(£73.2m)
The Real Madrid star striker earned £70m in the last
year - making him the highest-paid European sports
personality.
His contract extension left him almost pipping beating
Rowling.
Half of the Top 20 is made up of sports stars - with
Wales and Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale putting in
an impressive display in 18th place, earning £25.5m.
Coldplay $88m (£69.33m)
Chris Martin and the boys will be glad to know they
raked in a very impressive £66 million in the last year
- making them the highest-earning band on the list.
Coldplay return following the success of their
worldwide Head Full of Dreams tour, which finished in
Australia and New Zealand in December.
That's also good news for the charity sector, as the
band donate a chunk of their profits to good causes.
Adele $69m (52m)
The grammy-award winning singer might have had to
cancel a few concerts earlier this year due to ill
health , but the continuation of her record-breaking
album sales have kept her in good-standing and a
respectable number 18 on the list.
The Hello singer is also the only woman in the
European celeb ranking apart from Harry Potter
author JK Rowling.
Ed Sheeran $36m (28m)
It's been a bad week for Ed after he was forced to
cancel a string of tour dates after a nasty accident
left him temporarily unable to strum his guitar.
But he'll be pleased to know he's now 15th on the
European entertainers list, with a fortune of £27
million.
Losers
Donald Trump $31 bn
The president has dropped 92 spots on the Forbes' list
of wealthiest Americans, with his fortune down from
$3.7bn last year.
Forbes suggested the fall could be down to the
decline in Trump's real estate holdings.
Last year he was the 156th wealthiest person in
America - this year he was the 248th.
One Direction
After previously storming the Forbes list, the boys
have failed to make the cut since going their separate
ways.
Last year they were second on the list of highest paid
musicans in the world, behind Taylor Swift and ahead
of Adele.
Their On The Road Again Tour had earned them
$200m plus, even after the departure of Zayn Malik.
