Harry Kane has been ruled out of Tottenham 's clash
with Manchester United tomorrow.
The striker has suffered a hamstring strain and could
also miss next week's Champions League tie against
Real Madrid.
Kane had been undergoing intensive treatment but it
proved to be a losing battle.
He has been the spearhead of Spurs challenge in the
Premier League and the Champions League.
But Kane was left out of the squad for Wednesday
night's Carabao Cup defeat to West Ham and it
appears Fernando Llorente will lead the line against
United.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said: "For me, we
cannot take a risk. It is very small but we cannot take
a risk for tomorrow.
"We will see for Real Madrid on Wednesday. Always
you want to have all your players available. Always it
is a problem. But like always we believe in our
squad.”
Pep Guardiola incensed Pochettino by referring to
Tottenham as the “Harry Kane team” earlier this
month.
Beating title rivals Manchester United away is a
chance to prove they are not.
But the Spurs boss said: “We don't need to prove
ourselves that we're Tottenham. Maybe people expect
that but for us, no! Last season, when he was injured,
you can see the stats, the games we played.
"We didn't lose without Harry or with Harry! I'm not
happy, I'm disappointed because Harry is our main
striker and one of the best strikers in the world.
You're always going to miss your best striker. I'm not
stupid."
