Wayne Rooney heads to funeral without Coleen Rooney - but keeps his wedding ring on as wife takes hers off

The disgraced footballer still seems to be keen to
save his marriage amid his legal woes.
Showing his respects at the funeral of former
Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd on
Saturday, Wayne Rooney was spotted still wearing his
wedding ring as speculation mounts about the state of
his marriage to Coleen Rooney.
Especially seeing as that on the same day, Coleen
was spotted taking the kids to football training -
without her wedding ring.

The two, who have been married since 2008, share
sons Kai, seven, Klay, four, and Kit, one.
Although he's proudly sporting his ring, it doesn't
seem Coleen, 31, is letting Wayne off so easily,
choosing not to attend Freddy's memorial by her
husband's side.
It's not the first time she's been spotted sans-ring ,
but it's an interesting sign she was spotted without it
on the same day Wayne was seen proudly wearing his
- and heading solo to a funeral.
Attending the service at St George's Church in
Jesmond, the presence of the band was a telling sign
he's willing to work to repair his marriage to Coleen
Rooney - who is expecting her fourth child with the
footballer .
It comes amid the drama facing the football player as
he starts his 100 hours of community service - after
being convicted of drink driving in September .
The Everton striker, 31, was caught three times over
the limit driving Laura Simpson, 29, in her car back to
her house - prompting the cheating rumours now
plaguing the couple.
The ex-England and Manchester United skipper has
currently completed around 12 hours of his court-
ordered community service at a gardening centre,
which includes general maintenance tasks as
disadvantaged adults around him learn new skills,
including plant potting and woodwork.
