Nude model turned TV host reveals ambitions to be next Russian president to 'become the voice for single mothers'

A former nude model turned TV host has revealed her
ambitions to be the next President of Russia.
Journalist and activist Katya Gordon has her sights
set on Vladimir Putin's job as she wants 'to represent
the millions of mothers abandoned by dead-beat
partners.'
The 37-year-old has announced her ambitions to run
for the top job in the 2018 elections.
She said: "I decided to use my right and come
forward with my candidacy for the post of the
President of Russia."
Katya, who stripped naked for a photoshoot for the
Russian version of Playboy in 2014, says she knows
from experience how the judicial system works in
Russia.
And the mother-of-two said that she would be
representing the millions of Russian women who
raised their families while men shirked their
responsibilities.
As a journalist, she campaigned to protect women's
rights and would put the interests of mothers and
their children at the heart of her campaign, she said.
Katya said: "We are a country of single mothers, for
whom nobody cares," adding that she wanted to
"become a voice for women whose rights are
violated".
She added that she would be the only candidate that
was not Kremlin-approved.
One of her rivals will be another blonde beauty, the
TV hostess and socialite Ksenia Sobchak, 35, who is
said to be President Putin's goddaughter, although
she denies this.
Sobchak's father Anatoly built a close relationship
with Putin and helped launch his career in politics
when he was the Mayor of St Petersburg.
Putin himself, 65, has not confirmed whether or not
he will stand for re-election.
