Real Madrid.
It is said Ibrahimovic wanted to finish his career with

Mourinho United best since Ferguson
03:35: Jose Mourinho’s current Manchester United
side has been hailed as the best since Sir Alex
Ferguson left.
United haven’t come close to challenging for the title
since Ferguson called time on his illustrious career in
2013.
But Mourinho has helped raise expectation levels after
winning the Europa League and EFL Cup last term.
And their scintillating form at the start of this
campaign has got United legend Bryan Robson signing
the praises of Mourinho.
"It always depends on injuries throughout the year, but
as far as I am concerned since Sir Alex left this is
probably the strongest squad that I've seen,” Robson
said.
Jones needs constant care
01.20: Jose Mourinho admits Phil Jones needs
constant attention from the club’s medical
department.
The England international has struggled with injury
problems throughout his time at Old Trafford but has
established a strong partnership with Eric Bailly this
season with United sitting top of the table.
But Mourinho admits Jones has been playing with a
slight ankle problem.
“He's potentially a very good player. He's still young,
still at a learning age, but for years and years and
years he was injury prone,” Mourinho said.
“He has a problem now. He’s complaining about ankle
problems. He’s the kind of player where we need to
have him always in our hands, with a lot of care from
the medical department.”
Andreas Pereira will reportedly join Valencia on a
season-long loan

Pereira completes loan move
22:00: Andreas Pereira is reportedly set to join
Valencia on a season-long loan from Manchester
United.
The 21-year-old spent last season in La Liga with
Granada and Spanish radio station Carrusel claim the
midfielder is set for a return to Spain.
Spanish-based journalist Sid Lowe reported Valencia
confirmed the deal via Carrusel.
Gareth Bale bid
14:00: Manchester United have launched a £92million
bid for Gareth Bale.
That’s according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.
The Red Devils remain eager to sign the Real Madrid
star - despite Jose Mourinho publicly ruling out a
transfer.
And Los Blancos could cash in amid injury concerns
over the Wales international.
Manchester United will not sign a new player
in January
11:45: Jose Mourinho says Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s new
contract, with his expected January return date, means
United don’t need to buy.
“He will be back in January. When the market is open
[in January] and people are spending money, we
don’t,” he said.
“But we get a player who was fundamental for us last
season. He comes to give us extra quality in the
second half of the season.”
Left side defence warning
11:00: Robbie Savage believes Jose Mourinho needs to
look at improving the left-hand side of his Manchester
United defence.
“I know they’re going to be in all the competitions this
year,” Savage said on BT Sport.
“I’m looking at that Manchester United side and I know
they’ve scored 10 and have kept three clean sheets,
but just the left hand side of that defence.
“Blind’s done well, Jones I thought did very well
today.
“But there’s just something, that the partnership
between Bailly and Jones, and Jones and Blind, I just
think that left-hand side of defence.
“If they’re going to challenge, especially the
Champions League.
“I know they’ve got Lindelof and they’ve got Smalling
but I just think the left-hand side of the defence.”

Gareth Bale has been told to stay at Real Madrid
Valencia owner arrives
10:00: Valencia owner Peter Lim is reportedly in
Manchester to try and sign Andreas Pereira.
Singaporean tycoon Lim was last night in Paris to
watch PSG thump St Etienne 3-0.
The owner is keen to sign Gonzalo Guedes and is now
in England eyeing up Pereira.
Smalling to Leicester
09:15 Chris Smalling is a transfer target for Leicester -
and United boss Jose Mourinho is not seeking a
replacement.
The centre-half has fallen down the pecking order at
Old Trafford and has several players ahead of him in
Mourinho’s plans.
According to The Mirror, Foxes manager Craig
Shakespeare is keen on the 27-year-old.
Leicester believe Smalling would be a good partner for
Harry Maguire and could sign him before Thursday’s
11pm deadline.
Coleman's Bale advice
08:30: Wales boss Chris Coleman says Gareth Bale is
better served staying at Real Madrid rather than
moving to the Premier League.
"I think from our point of view my opinion is that La
Liga, the tempo and physicality is completely different
to the Premier League," Coleman told Wales Online.
"Technically some of the teams there are absolutely
tip top.
"Being selfish, he's better off at Real Madrid. You work
all your life to get to the top, you don't want to give
that up.
"Where do you go from Real Madrid that's better?
There's one or two clubs up there but none better."
