Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the national
chairman of the All Progressives Congress
(APC), has urged the people of the south-east
to join the APC, stating that that would be the
easiest way for them to produce a future
president, Punch reports.
Oyegun made his comments in Abuja on
Thursday, September 28, at the inauguration
of a 48-member campaign council for the APC
candidate for the upcoming Anambra
gubernatorial election.

NAIJ.com gathers that he further used the
occasion as an opportunity to welcome into
the APC fold, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, the former
deputy national chairman in the defunct Ali
Modu Sherrif -led faction of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP).
Oyegun stated: “We must change the
narrative in the South-East and we must start
with Anambra because the APC represents the
most viable route for any South-East person
to the presidency of this country.”
Oyegun stressed the APC’s deep desire to win
the governorship seat in Anambra, noting
that the state was the gateway into the south-
east.
He stated: “It is important that we do
everything we can, fair and square, to bring
Anambra State into the fold of the
progressives for a lot of reasons.
“Until we manage to bring a few states into
the mainstream of progressives’ politics, we
may not see the end of this continued cry of
marginalisation.
“It is important that we work and work very
hard to win; Anambra being a critical state in
the South-East.
“It is not going to be a small political struggle.
We must work hard with unity of purpose to
break through to the South-East in a major
way to win Anambra.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that
the Movement for the Actualisation of the
Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), said that
Igbo presidency is not its goal.
MASSOB made the statement in variance with
a statement by the national chairman of the

Odigie-Oyegun, who stated that the ruling
