Melania Trump's style evolution over the past year: How the US First Lady has polished up her look

On 7 November, it's a whole year since voters went to
the polls at the US election and the whole world was
shocked by Donald Trump's surprise victory.
The Republican businessman assumed office on
January 20, 2017, with his wife Melania by his side,
all throughout his presidential campaign and his
inauguration .
The spotlight has also been on the former model, 47,
and she was previously renowned for her revealing
dresses and expensive furs. But with stylish shoes to
fill from her predecessor, Michelle Obama , Melania
knew that she would have to up her game fashion-
wise.

has a distinctive image as First Lady , with her
tailored jackets and block colour dresses.

Tailored dresses
Gone are Melania Trump's short and revealing
bodycon dresses of yesteryear and in place are
tailored shifts and fit and flare frocks from some of
the world's hottest designers.
Melania has an incredible figure, but she's realised
she doesn't need to show it off in strappy or low-cut
numbers. Skater-style dresses suit her hourglass
figure and a wide waist belt helps to show off her
slender waist. The accessory has become one of her
trademark looks.
And while Melania used love to a LBD, she's started
to experiment more with her palette, wearing more
understated block colour pieces.
Colour pop shoes
Michelle Obama's staples included shift dresses,
colourful cardigans and statement jewellery, and
Melania seems to be adopting one of her own, with
her collection of court shoes.
While the Duchess of Cambridge loves her nude LK
Bennett pumps, Melania appears to have a penchant
for Christian Louboutins' red-soled heels and Manolo
Blahniks - and in an array of colours.
