The build-up to Survivor Series is in full swing now,
and a week on from Smackdown's attack on Raw, the
blue brand were somewhat reeling after general
manager Daniel Bryan was attacked by Kane on
Monday night.
Shane McMahon discussed that situation, whilst two
men were added to the Smackdown Survivor Series
team, with just one more place up for grabs ahead of
this month's pay-per-view.
The likes of Sami Zayn, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Rusev
and The New Day were all in action on Tuesday night,
and here are seven things you missed from this
week's edition of Smackdown...
Shane McMahon reacts to Kane's attack on Daniel
Bryan
Raw haven't exactly launched a full-scale backlash to
Smackdown's stunning attack last week, but when
Daniel Bryan attempted to smooth relations between
the two brands on Monday night, he was locked in
Kurt Angle's office and eventually chokeslammed in
the dark by former friend Kane.
Smackdown commissioner Shane McMahon addressed
the crowd by stating that Raw will have hell to pay for
their attack on Bryan, and even announced that he will
be captaining the Smackdown Survivor Series team –
just as counterpart and Raw general manager Angle
will captaining Raw's team.
Bobby Roode defeats Dolph Ziggler, wins place on
Survivor Series team
After a long-running rivalry, Bobby Roode and Dolph
Ziggler went head-to-head for what appears to be the
last time, as they fought in a two-out-of-three falls
match, with the winner earning a place on the
Smackdown Survivor Series team.
PLAY
Ziggler claimed the first pinfall with a brutal superkick,
and after Roode levelled the scoring, the comeback
was completed with a Glorious DDT, as Roode's place
on the Survivor Series team alongside McMahon and
Randy Orton was confirmed.
The Usos to defend their Smackdown Tag Team
Championships next week
The Usos recently won their Smackdown Tag Team
Championships back from The New Day after a storied
rivalry, but they now have a new challenger on the
horizon in the team of Shelton Benjamin and Chad
Gable.
Whilst The Usos have one eye on Survivor Series,
where they will take on Raw Tag Team Champions
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, they now have more
pressing matters in the near future.
The Usos were confronted by Benjamin and Gable
backstage, and they revealed that commissioner
McMahon has granted them a title match on next
week's episode of Smackdown, meaning The Usos
must first defend their titles before looking to Survivor
Series.
Sin Cara disqualified as Baron Corbin attempts to rip
off his mask
United States Champion Baron Corbin has lost to Sin
Cara in successive weeks, and whilst he will be facing
Intercontinental Champion The Miz at Survivor Series,
he took on Sin Cara yet again this week.
A heated match saw Corbin attempt to tear off Sin
Cara's mask on a number of occasions, and given the
disrespectful nature of such an act, it was no surprise
to see Sin Cara lose his cool with a flurry of punches
to Corbin on the outside.
That ultimately led to a disqualification, as the
strange matches between the two – which have
either finished in a count-out or a disqualification –
continued.
AJ Styles beats Samir Singh as Jinder Mahal again
targets Brock Lesnar
WWE Champion Jinder Mahal will be facing Universal
Champion Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, and he
emerged on Smackdown to claim that there is a real
fear in the Lesnar camp that Mahal could stun the
world and win, before AJ Styles interrupted him.
Styles beat Sunil Singh in rapid fashion last week, and
he was at it again this time around, defeating Samir
Singh with a swift Styles Clash. Mahal was quick to
get into the ring to hit Styles with a Khallas, but even
after his big matchup with Lesnar, Mahal may find
that The Phenomenal One is coming for his WWE
Championship.
Rusev defeats Big E, will face AJ Styles next week
After backstage shenanigans – which included Xavier
Woods dressed as Jimmy Hart and Rusev accusing
The New Day of giving Halloween candy to Raw spies
– Big E took on the Bulgarian brute for stomping on
his candy.
Aiden English was again in Rusev's corner, and after
distracting Big E so much that he was hit with a Big
Ending, Rusev was lying in wait to win with a thrust
kick, prompting wild celebrations from Rusev once
again.
Rusev spoke to commissioner McMahon backstage,
demanding a place on the Smackdown Survivor Series
team, only for McMahon to offer him the chance to
win his place; Rusev will take on AJ Styles on next
week's Smackdown, with the winner added to the
team.
Shinsuke Nakamura beats Kevin Owens despite Sami
Zayn's interference
Sami Zayn lost his Survivor Series qualifying match to
Randy Orton last week, and this week, it was the turn
of Zayn's 'best friend' Kevin Owens, as he took on
Shinsuke Nakamura in the main event for a place on
the team.
Zayn unsurprisingly ran down to the ring to help
Owens, pulling him out of the ring as Nakamura
geared up for the win, and just as Owens and Zayn
were looking to clear an announce table to send
Nakamura through, Orton arrived to end those hopes,
sending Zayn over the announce table.
Back in the ring, Nakamura claimed the win with a
Kinshasa, meaning he joins Orton, McMahon and
Roode on the Smackdown Survivor Series Team, with
just one place up for grabs, which will be filled by
either Rusev or Styles.
