Triple H joins The Shield to replace Roman Reigns as WWE kicks off UK tour in Glasgow - Results

Triple H became an honorary member of The Shield
when WWE kicked off its UK tour in Glasgow last
night.
Kurt Angle filled the place of Roman Reigns at TLC:
Tables, Ladders and Chairs because the Big Dog was
suffering with a virus.
The infection has kept the Samoan off the company's
European jaunt, leaving Seth Rollins and Dean
Ambrose lacking a comrade.
PROMOTED STORIES
But few would have expected HHH to be the man to
join forces with the Hounds of Justice, even if it was
strictly for one night only!
The Game of course fought The Shield with his
faction Evolution, before famously encouraging Rollins
to betray his brothers in 2014.
He became Seth's mentor in The Authority but then
screwed his former protege out of the Universal
Championship in August last year.
The pair then waged a vicious feud ending in Rollins
pinning Triple H at WrestleMania after pushing his
wife Stephanie McMahon through a table.
Yes, it makes little sense, but the King of Kings
donning The Shield's black flak jackets was a cool
moment for those in the packed SSE Hydro.
And in a week when Braun Strowman proved he could
survive being crushed alive in a garbage truck, fans
are used to suspending their disbelief!
The other big news in Glasgow was the return of Bray
Wyatt - struck down by the same virus as Reigns - to
help Cesaro and Sheamus face The Shield.
The finish of the match saw Triple H take Reigns'
spot for the Shield-style triple powerbomb to Cesaro,
after receiving a Shield vest from Rollins.
"I had to make a call I never thought I'd make," said
Rollins on his need to recruit his longtime adversary.
"Desperate times. Always have a Plan B."
The show opened with Raw Women's Champion
challenger Mickie James losing to the former NXT
Champion Asuka via submission.
Intercontinental Champion The Miz retained his title
against Matt Hardy, once again with the help of his
allies in The Miztourage.
Jason Jordan, Rhyno, Heath Slater and Goldust
narrowly edged out Elias, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson
and Bo Dallas in tag action.
Enzo Amore, fresh from giving Strictly Come Dancing
star Kevin Clifton dance lessons backstage, retained
the Cruiserweight Championship versus Kalisto.
Fans then got two real treats, as first Pete Dunne
successfully defended his WWE UK title against
Wolfgang, in a pulsating match.
Braun Strowman then defeated Kane via
disqualification, after the Big Red Machine hit the
Monster Among Men with a chair, only to be put
through a table.
Sasha Banks and Bayley defeated Nia Jax and RAW
Women's Champion Alexa Bliss before Finn Balor
managed to overcome Samoa Joe.
The WWE UK Live tour visits Glasgow, Brighton,
Aberdeen, London, Cardiff, Minehead, Manchester,
Birmingham, Leeds and Nottingham from November 1 to
9.
